Where We’ve Been and Where We’re Going

Happy 2017! After a long and crazy 2016, we’re nearly two weeks into the new year and I hope it is treating you well!

Where we've been and where we're going

Where we’ve been…

2016. Wow, what a year.  My lack of posting over the last year is embarrassing. I have had a lot that I wanted to share, but I let the dramas of life get in my way.  Illness in my family and myself, exhaustion from balancing work and school, and dealing with the lingering effects of a concussion drained me mentally and physically.

Added to those stresses, was the self-doubt, the fear of failure, or doing this blogging thing “wrong.” Reading article after article of how-to’s, must-do’s, and “rules for success,” got overwhelming.  So much so that I let it stop me from doing what I enjoy.

Today, as I was browsing through Facebook, I came across a post from my blogging friend Amanda Genovese from Dog Mom Days about her favorite quote:

A good one for me today (my favorite quote):
Stop thinking about what could go wrong and start getting excited about what could go right!!!

It was a light bulb moment for me. Such a simple idea, yet it inspired me to stop worrying about whether I’m “doing it right” and just do it!  (Thanks Amanda!!)

Where we’re going…

I will be sharing all of those ideas and stories I had last year and much more. Delia has her PupScouts troop she’s building, so we’ll be sharing about that. We have several DIY crafty projects in the works that were put off for far too long. I can’t wait to delve into creating again, to share it with you, and to see what YOU are creating!

Remember that school that I mentioned earlier? After procrastinating for too long, I’m finally studying for Holistic Animal Care certification. After completing that, I will be finalizing my certification for canine massage and beginning aromatherapy certification.  I’m looking forward to sharing what I’m learning with you.

Lastly, the animals. There are so many animals and their stories I want to celebrate and share with you. (If you have an animal you would like featured, please email me!) I will also be featuring adoptable animals as I have in the past. (One of the initial reasons I started this blog was to share adoptable animals and spotlight the benefits of rescue and adoption.)

Delia and Chewy are excited to get back to trying new recipes, reviewing products, and going on pet-friendly adventures!

Thank you for reading and I hope you’ll continue to follow our adventures.
