After careful consideration, I have stepped away from my role as Missouri team leader and volunteer with Bailing Out Benji.

This was not an easy decision, as I care deeply about educating the public and advocating for dogs. However, at this time, I need to step back in order to stay aligned with my personal values.

I’m grateful for the people I’ve met and the work I’ve been part of, and I will continue to remain active in animal welfare advocacy in my own way. Follow @dogsuncaged 🐾

Happy 16th Birthday, Delia!! 💜🦄

We spent the day exploring and sniffing in the yard (she sniffed. I did not), enjoying her pupcakes and barkuterie board, and napping. She and our cousin Erik even had a short Birthday dance like they did on her 6th birthday!💜

She's slowing down, her vision and hearing are fading slowly, but her spirit is as vibrant as ever. I cherish every moment with her.

My Honey Bun turns 11 today. 🐾💜 Losing my Mom hit him hard, but he's starting to act more like our Chewy again. He's the most empathetic, mischievous yet lovable little dude. Happy Birthday, Chewy 💜🐾

One week ago today, my sweet Mom, Carol Bregant ma

One week ago today, my sweet Mom, Carol Bregant made her way to Heaven.

She protected me and her nephew Erik right to the end, waiting until I stepped outside to check on Amelia and Erik was busy in the kitchen, to quietly let go. She always looked out for us.

She was my mother, best friend, and partner in so many adventures. She was incredibly kind, loving, creative, giving, and so patient. Her imagination, creativity, and "resourcefulness," as she'd say, never stopped.
She loved deeply, accepted everyone, and wasn't afraid to speak up when it mattered.
She could be fiery when needed and didn't tolerate disrespect or hate towards anyone.
She adored her nieces and nephews and was proud to be “Aunt Purple” to her great-great-nieces and nephews.

And she was the absolute BEST “Nanny”—a title she chose proudly—to our dogs and the dogs we cared for. She adored her granddogs, and they adored her.

Even after nearly 10 years living with Alzheimer's, watching her fade through the years, and witnessing how the disease destroyed her mind and body, it is unfathomable to me that my sweet Mom is gone. But today, she is finally free—free of pain, confusion, and illness. She is reunited with my Dad after 45 years, and with her sister, brother, and parents.

She’s whole again. She’s at peace. And for that, I am truly grateful.

As she wished, there will be no funeral—she chose to donate her body to medical research. I’ll be planning a small celebration of her life around her birthday in July.

She had the most beautiful smile. I will miss her forever.

Her favorite verse was 1 Corinthians 14:4-8, which she embodied completely.

“Love is patient, love is kind… It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:4–8

Inside was their beautiful Sweet Potato Pie for Dogs🥧 (a real treat for my pups), along with 🥓Bacon & Banana🍌 treats that got lots of tail wags, playful toys from BARK, a fun tote bag, and a beautifully handmade blanket that added such a special touch.❤️🐾

The care and thought Faith Treats put into every item truly stood out. If you’re looking to treat your pups with something unique and wholesome I highly recommend them. This basket was a reminder of the wonderful people behind small businesses who genuinely care about the animals they serve.

Anyone else have a favorite treat from Faith Treats? I’d love to hear about it. ❤️
