Chewy goes to work with me every day, so he rides int he car a LOT. His safety is my priority, so I had purchased a car seat harness for him when he came to live with us. He chewed through one of the buckles the first week and escaped multiple times, no matter how I adjusted the straps, earning the nickname “Chewdini.” When Kurgo offered their Tru-Fit Smart Harness to review, I was happy to accept.
I was provided a free Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Harness for our honest review and received no additional compensation for this post. The opinions are my own.
The Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Harness is designed to be used as a walking harness and a car harness. The front chest piece is padded for comfort and includes a D-Ring to attach the leash for walking. The placement of the D-Ring on the front of the chest piece deters your dog from pulling by redirecting them to one side or the other as you walk.
The harness is made of durable material and available in red and blue or black and orange. It is well-built and durable. The metal nesting buckles are easy to buckle and can’t be chewed by puppies!
An easily attachable seat belt tether is included. It can be attached to the seat belt a few different ways, which are illustrated in the Installation and Care sheet that is included with the harness. The tether’s carabiner attaches to the D-Ring on the back of the harness for car travel safety.
I love the fact that I can just unhook the seat belt tether’s carabiner and hook on Chewy’s leash and we’re off. The harness is easy to adjust and very easy to put on and take off.
We’ve been using the Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Harness for almost a month now. Chewy hasn’t been able to escape the harness and cannot chew the material or the metal buckles.
We highly recommend this harness and have ordered one to replace Delia’s current car safety harness. She doesn’t chew or escape, but I want her to be safe in our travels and feel confident that this harness is the right choice for both of my babies.
