August 26th is celebrated annually as National Dog Day! National Dog Day was founded in 2004 by Colleen Paige, Pet & Family Lifestyle Expert and Animal Advocate. National Dog Day serves to celebrate dogs. Working dogs, family dogs, hero dogs, service dogs…whatever role your dogs play in your life…today is the day to celebrate their impact on you life. National Dog Day also serves to bring recognition to dogs in shelters in need of adoption. I work at a Doggie Daycare and have the pleasure of spending every day surrounded by awesome dogs. I want to share just a few of my friends here, today:

Chewy Caught the Ball!
We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and do what Delia loves best….fetch! Except today, Chewy was determined to get the ball before Delia… …and he’s off! He caught the ball!! He usually can’t keep up with her, but this time, they ran together! He decided to take it to the deck and chew on it for a bit. Delia: “You gonna let go of that ball, Chewy?” Chewy: “No, I think I’m gonna keep it.”

Introducing…Chewy!
Delia has a new puppy brother. Meet Chewy! He’s an 8-month old Kyi-Leo, or better known as a Lhasa-Apso/Maltese mix. Meet Chewy! Chewy was a regular at the doggie daycare/pet hotel where I work, and since I had been thinking of adopting a friend for Delia, my awesome bosses told me he was looking for a new home. Chewy loves doggie daycare! He is the perfect addition to our family! He is the best puppy brother Delia could ever want. She wasn’t thrilled about this new little brother at first, but she is warming up to him. Delia loves to be chased, and Chewy loves to give chase, so they…
