My Failure at Delia’s Dental Care Routine and How I Plan to Fix It
Delia has horrible breath. It is my fault. We used to brush her teeth at least three times a week, but she put up such a fight, I felt terrible, so I stopped, which was worse for her in the long run. I’ve bought countless dental treats, water additives, and numerous flavors of toothpaste. I’m convinced she’s got to be one of the pickiest dogs on the planet. She won’t eat any of the chews, stops drinking the water with the additives and runs at the sight of a toothbrush. It doesn’t matter if it is a brush, a finger brush, or what. She wants no part of it. The…

The Mission to Bring Randy the Pig Home
Photo courtesy of Dawn Blackburn. An animal is surrendered to a shelter. This animal has a loving home to return to. The animal is being held in quarantine for 30 days, then will be evaluated for adoption. Again, this animal has a loving home waiting, with a woman who WANTS to care for him. A woman who knows his needs better than the organization currently in possession of him. An organization that admitted to her to not being able to properly care for this animal before transferring him to Longmeadow Rescue Ranch. An organization that stated that it did not have room for this animal at the ranch due to…

52 Snapshots of Life Week 4: Dream
This is week 4 of the 52 Snapshots of Life photo challenge hosted by The Lazy Pitbull. This week’s theme is DREAM. This photo is actually a couple of months old, but it is the first thing I thought of when I saw this week’s theme. As Delia snuggled with her favorite dragon toy, I like to imagine she’s having magical dreams of dragons and fairies and unicorns. 52 Snapshots of Life is a weekly themed photo challenge for anyone who loves to take photos and would like to share them with us! 52 Snapshots of Life Week 3: Joyful
This is week three of the 52 Snapshots of Life photo challenge hosted by The Lazy Pitbull. This week’s theme is Joyful and Delia’s play was indeed joyful. Not only for her, but I can’t help but feel joyful watching her play so happily. For the first time in weeks, the weather was warm enough for Delia to play outside this past weekend. Playing fetch outside made this little dog truly joyful! Click photo to view larger. Check out the other bloggers participating in the 52 Snapshots of Life photo challenge and feel free to join in!

52 Snapshots of Life Week 2: MUSIC
This week’s theme for the 52 Snapshots of Life photo challenge is: Music. Dancey Delia Delia and I have the same taste in music. I discovered this shortly after I adopted her. As we were driving home from work I noticed her “dancing” in the back seat. When she gets excited she moves her front feet up and down, then stands on her back legs and wiggles her bottom, which looks like she’s dancing. She’ll do this for treats, her ball, and some music. Heavy metal, punk, hard rock music plays…she dances. I thought at first that maybe it was too much stimulation and it was more of…
